In this Maplestory thief guide, you'll learn to be the best assassin possible. The assassin is probably the costliest class to play as, and it takes quite a bit of commitment to become one of the best. However, the cost it takes to play an assassin is made up for with speed and meso efficiency. Assassins make the 2nd most amount of mesos in Maplestory right next to magicians, so you'll be rolling in cash in the higher levels.
Rolling Your Stats
When making a thief in Maplestory, you need to keep rolling your stats until INT and STR are both 4. This will take a while, but it's definitely worth it and will make things very easy. After you create your character and start playing, make sure you get your DEX to 25 as soon as possible. This is needed to become a rogue in Lith Harbor. After you get your DEX to 25, pump everything else into LUK and make sure you don't go over level 10.
Becoming a Thief
When you reach level 10, to go Kerning city and head to the jazz lounge. Go to the basement from there and you'll see Dark Lord hanging upside-down like a bat. Talk to him to become a rogue, and he'll give you a claw and a short sword. If you want to become an assassin, use the claw and buy some Subi throwing stars to start out with. You'll notice that you have one skill point spend after you become a thief, so spend that on Nimble Body. Talk to Dark Lord again and he'll give you a quest for beginning thieves, which is a good way to start out.
